Newsletter - Summer 2026

Welcome Message

As recent sports days, residential visits, leavers’ performances and even a few heatwaves have filled our calendars, there is a wonderful feeling in the air that the summer break is almost upon us!

This year has been another excellent opportunity to celebrate the achievements and dedication demonstrated across our partnership. We are incredibly proud of our ECT Cohort 2025 -2026, who have successfully completed their two-year induction journey with EHLT. Their commitment to professional growth, resilience and passion for making a difference to children’s lives has been inspiring to see.

Our Year 1 ECTs have also embraced their first year with such enthusiasm and we are very proud of each of them. As they continue their teaching journey, we look forward to supporting them through the next stage of their development and celebrating their future successes.

I am delighted to also congratulate our two ITT colleagues on successfully completing their Graduate Employment Based Route Early Years Teacher Status qualification, with the University of Wolverhampton. This is such an incredible achievement that reflects their hard efforts, dedication and passion for giving our children the very best start in life.

We would also like to recognise and congratulate Tipton Green Junior School on the positive outcome from its Ofsted inspection from last term. This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication and collaborative spirit of the whole school and Trust community. What a truly wonderful Trust we all work within!

As always, our heartful thanks go out to all of our schools, universities and professional partners across the region. Your continued support and belief in our shared vision truly reflects our ‘Partnership for Achievement’ ethos. Together, we continue to provide high-quality experiences and opportunities that strengthen and inspire the next generation of educators.

As another successful academic year draws to a close, may I wish you all a restful, enjoyable and well-deserved summer break. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. We look forward to the exciting opportunities, new beginnings and continued successes that the 2026–2027 academic year will bring.

Happy Summer Holidays!

Celebrating Our Early Career Teachers and Trainee Teachers

We are incredibly proud of all of our Early Career Teachers and Trainee Teachers across EHLT this year. It has been a privilege to support and celebrate their growth and excellent achievements throughout their journeys.

Congratulations to our Year 2 ECTs, who have successfully completed their two-year Early Career Framework induction. We wish them well on their journeys, and we look forward to seeing them continue to flourish and thrive.

Our Year 1 ECTs have also had a fantastic year, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm and such professionalism. They should be extremely proud of all they have achieved as they prepare to enter the next stage of their ECT journey.

We look forward to welcoming our Year 1 ECTs in September and continuing to support them through the ECT Ambition Programme, delivered in partnership with Manor Teaching School Hub.

We are excited to be working in partnership with Manor Teaching School Hub and Ambition Institute from September 2026 to deliver the Year 1 ECT programme, whilst continuing to support our Year 2 ECTs through the EHLT ECT programme. We look forward to learning and celebrating our successes through this valued partnership.

We would also like to thank our ECT Mentors, Induction Tutors and school colleagues for their invaluable guidance and support. Their encouragement and expertise play a vital role in developing the next generation of teachers.

The commitment shown by our ECTs and Trainee Teachers continue to reflect the values at the heart of EHLT, always placing children at the centre of everything they do.

A huge well done to all of our ECTs and Trainee Teachers. Keep shining, keep inspiring, and keep making a difference!

EHLT World Cup Football Event

Children from across all Elston Hall Learning Trust schools recently came together for an exciting World Cup Football Event, hosted at Goldthorn Park. The day was filled with excellent teamwork and plenty of smiles as the children had the opportunity to compete and represent their schools with pride.

Throughout the tournament, all children demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and celebrated each other's successes both on and off the pitch. It was wonderful to see pupils from across the Trust coming together and reflecting the collaborative values that are so important to us all at EHLT.

A huge congratulations to Pheasey Park Farm Primary School, who were awarded this year's champions, and to Elston Hall Primary School, who secured an impressive second place finish.

Whilst there could only be one winning team, we are incredibly proud of every child who took part. In our eyes, they are all winners! Well done EHLT footballers!

Exceptional Teaching Pathway – Now Open for Bookings

We are delighted to announce that bookings are open for the Exceptional Teaching Pathway (ETP), a professional development programme designed and delivered by Elston Hall Learning Trust for teachers in their third year of practice and beyond.

Building on the foundations of the ITTECF, this unique programme moves beyond core pedagogy to explore deeper aspects of the profession, including teacher identity, values, positive staff-pupil relationships and school culture. The programme has been carefully designed to bridge the gap between the Early Career Framework and NPQs, supporting teachers to further enhance their practice and develop their understanding of the challenges and opportunities they face in the classroom.

This is an exciting opportunity for teachers looking to continue their professional growth and take the next step in their career development.

Places are limited, so we encourage colleagues to secure their place soon to avoid disappointment. For full programme details, please visit the EHLT Training website and refer to the programme flyer attached to this newsletter.

Trust Commonwealth Event at Aldersley stadium

On Monday 6th July, 94 children representing all schools across EHLT took part in the Trust's Commonwealth Games at Aldersley Leisure Village.

Throughout the day, the children showed great enthusiasm and determination as they competed in a range of events, including obstacle races, sprint and long-distance running, egg and spoon races, and relay races.

We are incredibly proud of all the children who represented their schools. Their hard work and effort paid off, with many pupils earning gold, silver and bronze medals. It was a fantastic day of sport, teamwork and achievement for everyone involved.

Chief Executive Wishes

As we reach the end of another successful academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone across Elston Hall Learning Trust for the commitment, professionalism and care they demonstrate every day. Every colleague plays a vital role in ensuring that our children receive the very best education and opportunities to flourish.

This newsletter provides just a snapshot of the many achievements that have taken place across our Trust over recent months. It has been inspiring to see children excelling in sporting competitions, schools celebrating significant milestones, colleagues progressing through their professional development, and teams working collaboratively to continually improve the quality of education we provide.

One of the greatest strengths of Elston Hall Learning Trust is our commitment to partnership. We firmly believe that we achieve more together than we ever could alone. Whether supporting schools through inspection, developing the next generation of teachers, sharing expertise between colleagues or creating exciting opportunities for pupils to come together, our values of collaboration, ambition and excellence continue to shape everything we do.

This term has seen much to celebrate. We congratulate Tipton Green Junior School on their successful Ofsted inspection, recognising the dedication of staff and the strength of collaborative support across the Trust. We have also celebrated the achievements of our Early Career Teachers, whose enthusiasm and commitment give us great confidence for the future of the profession. Alongside this, events such as our Trust World Cup and Commonwealth Games have provided wonderful opportunities for pupils from all our schools to build friendships, develop confidence and demonstrate outstanding teamwork and sportsmanship.

As a Trust, we remain ambitious for every child and every colleague. We continue to invest in high-quality professional development through initiatives such as our Exceptional Teaching Pathway, strengthen leadership capacity across our schools and develop innovative approaches that ensure our pupils are equipped with the knowledge, skills and character they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

This year has also brought moments of transition. We extend our sincere thanks to Mrs Sue Arnold as she retires following three decades of exceptional service to education. Her dedication has had a profound impact on generations of children, families and colleagues, and we wish her every happiness in retirement.

As Chief Executive, I have been immensely proud to witness the passion, resilience and determination shown across every school in our Trust. The progress we continue to make is only possible because of the extraordinary people who make up our Trust community and our shared belief that every child deserves an exceptional education.

On behalf of the Trust Board and Executive Leadership Team, thank you for your continued support throughout the year and I wish all our children, families and staff a safe, relaxing and well-deserved summer break.

We look forward with excitement to the opportunities that the new academic year will bring as we continue our journey together in our Partnership for Achievement.
